Word of a possible industrial prospect was shared Tuesday at the monthly Economic Development Partnership meeting.

City Manager Connie Standridge reports the meeting with the unnamed prospect took place recently, saying the company was interested in the South I-45 Industrial Park property. Standridge, along with City Councilman Jeff Smith and Police Chief Robert Johnson met with the group.

Standridge said the city doesn`t know who the company is something not uncommon in the early phases of site selection by industries but could involve an industry with the possibility of 250 jobs on now-vacant land.

The city has recently applied for a state grant to make infrastructure improvements to the property to help in its recruitment efforts.
