ONE KILLED, TWO SERIOUSLY HURT IN SUNDAY CRASH2017-04-16

Tragic news from Easter Sunday with the death of a Garland woman, and serious injuries to two juveniles in another car in a head-on vehicle crash on South Highway 287 near Lake Halbert Park.

Corsicana Police Chief Robert Johnson said preliminary information indicates a southbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound car head on.

The driver of the northbound car, Vlunda Roshell Lewis, age 46, was killed, and the two minors in the southbound vehicle were taken by air ambulance to a Dallas area hospital with serious injuries. Johnson did not identify the two boys because they are minors, one 14 years of age, the second 15 years of age. One of the boys was driving the car, Johnson said.

Traffic on the busy highway was tied up for a couple of hours as first responders worked the crash site.

Corsicana Police are continuing their investigation into the Easter Sunday crash.
