MAYOR: CITY ROAD PROJECT DAMAGED BY VANDALS2018-01-08
The City of Corsicana announced Monday that vandals have done approximately
$50,000 in damage to a major city road project.

Mayor Don Denbow`s email sent Monday regarding the damage:

The North 24th Street Reconstruction project had a significant setback. Last Thursday night at approximately 8:00 p.m. the west half of
North 24th between Sycamore Avenue and Woodlawn Avenue was damaged by
vandals.

Over 500 square yards of concrete paving was ruined. The cost of this
damage is estimated to be over $50,000 and will add additional time to
the completion date of the project.

Unfortunately, the citizens that use this street will continue to be
inconvenienced by additional construction delays. The contractor is
trying to finish this project as soon as possible. A police report has
been filed by XIT Paving and Construction. This is a criminal offense
and an investigation is underway.

Please contact the Corsicana Police Department with any information
that may lead to the arrest and conviction of the individual
responsible for this damage.

The phone number for the Corsicana Police Department is 903-654-4902.
