WATER LINE REPAIR PROMPTS HIGHWAY 22/SECOND AVENUE DETOUR 2018-02-07

An important note to share for those of you who travel on West 2nd Avenue and Highway 22 the city of Corsicana has announced that Highway 22 from 37th Street west to the Dobbins Extension at Corsicana High School will be closed to thru traffic for the rest of the week due to some utility repairs.

Crews will be repairing a leak in a 30 inch water supply line that runs under Highway 22 at the intersection where Second Avenue, 37th Street and Highway 22 converge.

Detours are set up for 45th Street and West 2nd Avenue from 37th to the old State Home property at 45th Street for the detour, and westbound traffic on West 2nd Avenue is being directed into one lane only as you approach 37th.

So if you commonly go that way to reach school or work, keep that in mind as you might encounter some lengthy delays in the morning and evening hours. It is hoped that the work will be completed by this weekend. The city thanks you for your understanding during these repairs.
