COUNTY JUDGE HM DAVENPORT JR ISSUES SHELTER IN PLACE ORDER EFFECTIVE AT 11:29 P..M.. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 252020-03-24
County Judge HM Davenport Jr. has issued a "Shelter in Place" declaration for Navarro County effective at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 to remain in effect for two weeks.

Davenport`s order calls for all citizens to stay in their place of residence except for trips to grocery stores, employment at essential businesses, to seek medical care or care for family members.

All essential, governmental and public safety organizations and the medical community will continue to function.

Grocery stores, restaurants that offer take out or delivery, gas stations, day care centers and other essential services are permitted to be open by the act.

The order also specifies that all elective medical and surgical procedures are prohibited to preserve medical resources for COVID-19 response.

All public gatherings are prohibited under the order, and religious organizations are asked to provide services via video and teleconference.

All non-essential businesses are to cease operations except for those who have employees or contractors who can work at home. 

All orders for eviction in the county are ordered suspended for 60 days.
